Origin Gardens Sign MoU With Chinese Firm For Economic Zone Development In Ikorodu

-Proposed projects to generate over 6000 jobs

The redevelopment of the Origin Gardens Limited, lkorodu, the only company that operates private zoo in Lagos, has received a boost as the management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pan Africhines Energy Development Limited, a Chinese firm.

The MoU was signed between the Chairman/Managing Director, Origin Gardens Limited, His Royal Highness Abiola Kosoko, the Oloja of Lagos – elect, and representatives of the Chinese firm, during the week.

In a statement signed by HRH Kosoko, he said that the facility, which takes into consideration the THEMES Plus agenda of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, when fully developed, would provide over 6000 jobs for Lagosians and contribute significantly to the socio- economic development of Ikorodu.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Origin Gardens Limited and the Pan Africhines Energy Development Limited, to jointly develop an economic zone for the Ikorodu division of Lagos State”, Kosoko said.

“This development will be carried out on a large expanse of land along Ikorodu road belonging to Origin Gardens & Resort Limited.

“The proposed economic zone will be divided into four sectors – an industrial hub, a mini port, a medical hub, a leisure arcade and the largest shopping mall in Nigeria, with a multi-story car park.

“The development is designed in line with Lagos state Themes plus agenda with special attention to the federal government’s renewed hope agenda”.

While emphasizing the importance of the project to Ikorodu and Lagos State at large, HRH Kosoko also assured that Origin is doing everything on its part to ensure that the project comes into fruition.
“The proposed project aims to provide jobs for over 6000 people, while also contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of Ikorodu division. This proposed project will also create a special platform for Lagos State to generate tax as stipulated in the policy”, Kosoko said.

“We are excited about the potential of this partnership and the positive impact it will have on the Ikorodu division and on the host community, We are committed to working closely with the Pan Africhinese Energy Limited to ensure the successful implementation of this project and look forward to bringing new opportunities and growth to the Ikorodu division of Lagos State”, the Origin Chief Executive assured.

The Oloja of Lagos elect also said that part of the company’s initiative to ensure that the project is delivered are meeting with the Governor of Lagos State and revered traditional heads in Ikorodu Division with the partners to secure their blessings and support.

“In addition to this development , the CEO of Origin Gardens Ltd, HRH Abiola Kosoko ( Oloja of Lagos / Alashe of Ebute-Iga) and the management board of Pan Africhinese Energy Development Limited, are making necessary arrangements to begin the process of meeting Mr Governor ( Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu) and the traditional heads of the various towns that make up the Ikorodu division, before a date for the ground breaking ceremony by Mr Governor and Royal blessing ceremony by the royal fathers, which will happen within the third quarter of 2024”, he said.
